Former US President Donald Trump has called for the prosecution of Vice President Kamala Harris and several high-profile celebrities, alleging they were involved in illegal payments for endorsements during the 2024 presidential election.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump accused the Democratic Party of violating campaign finance laws by paying millions of dollars to celebrities including singer Beyoncé, media icon Oprah Winfrey, and civil rights leader Al Sharpton in exchange for public endorsements.
“These ridiculous fees were incorrectly stated in the books and records. You are not allowed to pay for an endorsement. It is totally illegal to do so,” Trump wrote, claiming Beyoncé was paid USD 11 million, Oprah received USD 3 million for “expenses,” and Sharpton was paid USD 600,000 despite minimal involvement.
“Kamala and all of those who received endorsement money broke the law. They should all be prosecuted,” Trump added, warning of potential chaos if politicians began openly paying for endorsements.
The former president’s demand comes amid mounting scrutiny over his own ties to the Jeffrey Epstein case. Dismissing the investigation as politically motivated, Trump labeled it a “con job” by Democrats to distract from what he described as one of the “best six months in presidential history.”
He also announced that Attorney General Pam Bondi has been directed to work toward releasing grand jury testimonies related to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, amid growing bipartisan pressure for transparency.
The allegations and counterclaims highlight intensifying tensions ahead of the 2024 election fallout, with both parties facing mounting legal and political challenges.
